School Safety Recently, the Department of Education reviewed our security protocols and lockdown procedures. They commended us for the measures that we have taken to keep our school and students safe, especially our security vestibule our guard and armed Chief of Security. In the unlikely event a gunman could enter the building, we are planning to show a training video about what staff and students should or should not do. This video is planned to be shown this Friday morning, May 11, during Homeroom. The video was made several years ago by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. It shows what could happen if a gunman enters the school. It is a very graphic video that shows the violence that could occur. The video shows two gunmen shooting students who are still in the hallway. We are showing the video because of the recent heightened attention regarding safety in the school and gun control. Because of the graphic violence shown on the video, your student has the option of not viewing it. If you or your Manchester student does not want to view the video, please notify the school office at 973-389-2820. Please see the link below.https://vimeo.com/57597537

Bhatt Foundation Scholarship The Bhatt Foundation has included Manchester Regional High School in its annual philanthropy by offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. The award will go to a senior who is ranked in the top ten of his or her class and plans to continue his or her postsecondary education. The student may attend a vocational school or a two-year or four-year college or university. The selection process will also be based on a personal essay that outlines the student’s future goals. The guidance department along with school administrators will make the selection based on these criteria. The first annual Bhatt Foundation Scholarship will be awarded in June at the Manchester Senior Awards Night by a member of the foundation.
