MRHS Appreciates Aspiring Educators!

Teaching is the mother of all other professions.  That said, students Hadiya Abdalazyz and Cynthia Corona were recognized at the 10/17/24 BOE meeting for their participation in the William Paterson University Aspiring Educators Summer Program.  This six week program was fully paid for by the Hawkins Grant accessible to MRHS students in partnership with William Paterson University.  Not only did they get an incredible education but earned three college credits and were paid $2,000 for their hard work and participation via this grant opportunity.  This was open to all students in grades 11 and 12 last year but only two signed up.  The opportunity will be available again this summer and we encourage students to sign up via their School Counselor!  The students were also recognized by the President of the MREA, Ms. Cari Canvisser and MRAA Representative, Mr. Banta.  The next stop for these two aspiring educators?  The NJEA Teacher Convention of course!  One day of attendance and transportation fully paid for by the Hawkins Grant courtesy of William Paterson University.  Both Hadiya and Cynthia hope to enter the field of education soon!  MRHS appreciates its aspiring educators!
